Buses

Trains

Metropolitan Services

CityRail has a large range of leisure and tourist tickets to get you where you want to go. You can travel around the City centre on the City Circle Line (Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall, Central, Museum and St James Stations). There is also a station at Martin Place. Most trains do not operate between midnight and 4.30am. During these times a special Nightride bus service operates. You can use any valid CityRail return, pensioner, weekly or longer ticket or you can purchase a Nightride bus ticket from the bus driver. Single rail tickets are not valid on the Nightride service.

Interstate and Intrastate Services

Central Railway Station is the main junction for interstate and intrastate rail services. Information about these services is available from:

Ferries

Light Rail

Metro Light Rail is Sydney's newest transport system. Modern trams run from historic Central Station through vibrant Chinatown and Darling Harbour to the Star City Casino, the Sydney Fish Markets and Wentworth Park 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Information about services is available from:

Monorail

The monorail has a fabulous city loop with eight stops throughout the CBD. The monorail leaves every 3-5 minutes and takes approximately 15 minutes to do the circuit. Single trips or day passes can be purchased at every station. Information about services is available from:

Taxis

There is an abundance of taxis that can be hailed from the street, or engaged at ranks at Circular Quay, Wynyard Station, and Town Hall Station.

Sydney & Bondi Explorer (Tourist buses)

The 27 stop 'red' Sydney Explorer and 19 stop 'blue' Bondi Explorer offer the most comprehensive hop-on hop-off sightseeing tours available. They are the only timetabled services which offer a minimum 20 minute service frequency and include travel on the regular Sydney Buses network (blue travel zone).
One and two day tickets are available for travel on both the Sydney and Bondi Explorer. Purchase your ticket on board the bus.

City Hopper (Train)

SydneyPass (Tourist ticket)

The SydneyPass (available for three, five and seven days) provides unlimited travel on the Sydney and Bondi Explorer buses, all CityRail trains within a bounded area, all Sydney Buses and all Sydney Ferries, and return AirportLink train transfers. It also provides you with discounts into Sydney’s major attractions.
SydneyPass may be bought onboard the Explorer buses as well as from tourist outlets, travel agents and most CityRail Stations.

Day Tripper Ticket

DayTripper is an all-in-one day ticket that provides access to all three modes of Government transport in Sydney. Ticket holders can utilise all regular Sydney Buses, Sydney Ferries and CityRail Suburban Services within a bounded area.
