 Sterling College Sydney closed on 28th July, 2009 without any prior notification to students and staff members.

 Students have not been replaced to any other colleges by ACPET until now 1st week of Sep, 2009.
 Today (31Aug, 2009) we have got email from ACPET that they will replace all community welfare students to another colleges at the end of this week.
PROMINANT ISSUES WITH STUDENTS
ï¶ Immigration and Visa related problems
ï¶ Relocation and continuation of study
ï¶ Completed Course achievement records
ï¶ Field Placement and Insurance
ï¶ Getting of RPL( Recognition of Prior Learning) from new education provider
 Though ACPET has vowed to Students that they will not have any problem with their VISA but Immigration department still asking for COE (Conformation of Enrolment) of a new college to extend their visa. And that costs lots to students, visa fee $ 540 AUD and for other paper work.
 28 days has already passed and ACPET has failed to their promise. It has caused great frustration among students.
 Academic records which ACPET has sending to the Students and clamming that the record is according to the Sterling data base has lots of mistake and incomplete.
 Students who attending new college are not getting RPL therefore they have to repeat few subjects which cost time and money.

That's a long list of issues and above all I think the relocation issue remains the most serious. I don't think all students are ready or can afford to relocate. If the relocation process is expensive then I think it would only be fair for the students to receive compensation for that. Please keep us posted on the current situation!
