Getting Involved
FISA provides leadership training and active mentorship to everyone. People are graduated from being affiliate members to becoming active volunteers during this process, people are encouraged and motivated to contribute to their community primarily by participating in events.
Some people may then choose to do more and are then trained in organising events, seminars and lobbying efforts. Successful completion of projects adds to students’ experience and profile who are then encouraged by the Executive to join the Executive Board. As part of the Executive, the contribution to community is basically limitless. It can be as simple as writing a letter to your local member of parliament to as significant as writing a comprehensive research report. People are given various titles and portfolios where they then manage a number of projects concurrently with the help of many volunteers who we love to call ‘Leaders of the Future’.
Basically, your position is dependant on your honesty, hard work and dedication for your community. Opportunities are limitless – we encourage everybody to join.
