FISA's Sydney Representative met with the Chairman and Media Officer of the Community Relations Commission (CRC) of NSW on 11 June 2009.
FISA is working closely with the CRC on the current issues at hand and supports the initiatives from the CRC.
FISA concerned about recent arrests and charges

In the recent two weeks a number of Indians have been arested and charged by Police in both New South Wales and Victoria. FISA is quite concerned with these actions and charges of the Police.
FISA will be working with various Community Legal Centres to provide representation and justice to all people involved in peaceful protests in Melbourne and Sydney.

In response to the recent incidents in the Harris Park area in suburban Sydney, FISA sends a strong message to that it denounces any form of violence. FISA rejects acts of thuggery or retaliatory acts and is appealing to all Indian students and the Indian community for calm.
